Cruise Brochure
March to June, 1973
Beautiful example of 1970's cruise industry advertising, this color brochure is stamped on back with the Travel Agent's stamp. Created on a single 9.25" x 16" sheet, with three folds making four panels, it advertises Sitmar Cruises between March 24 and June 23, 1973, from Ft. Lauderdale, with calls in San Juan, St. Thomas, Santo domingo, and Purt-au-Prince. Includes dates, rate schedules, terms and conditions, and color pictures.
A wonderful opportunitiy to own a piece of memorabilia connected to the ship that had been a Cunarder, and was to become a Princess, but, sadly, is now a memory.
Folded size: Approximately 9.25" x 4"
Condition: Very good to excellent
The Fairwind was built for cunard in 1957 as the Sylvania. the ship was sold to the Sitmar Line, who did some rebuilding, and renamed her Fairwind in 1968. From 1988 to 1993, she sailed as the Dawn Princess, as Sitmar was aquired by Princess. Then, in 1993, Princess sold her back to the previous owner of Sitmar, who chartered her out as the Albatros until 2004, when she ws sold for scrap.
