Sitmar Cruises
Glass Ash Tray
A cruise memento from the now defunct Sitmar Cruises , this glass ash tray was probably used on board one of the line's Fair ships. This does not appear to have been a display piece, as it shows some usage wear, but the Sitmar Cruises logo is still clearly discernable, and there are no obvious chips or cracks. Made in France.
Size: Just over 4" across and 1" deep.
Condition: Good to very good
The Sitmar Line, orignnally a shipping company, and then engaging in emigrant transport, became a familiar name in American cruising in the 1970's. operating severalll "fair" ships, including the Fariwind, the fairksy, and the Fairstar. The line was sold to the then independent Princess Cruises in 1988, at which time, the four remaining Sitmar Cruise ships were transferred to their new owners.
