Ocean liner collectible!

Disposable lighter emblazoned with the name  S.S. Costa Riviera and two rows of nautical flags.  Sold on board the Costa Riviera while she was still sailing.  
Not a working lighter.  Useful as a collector's item, as this ship has ceased sailing and went to the scrappers in 2002, so the supply of Costa Riviera items will only continue to dwindle..

Size: Approximately 3.25" high x  .75" wide.

About the Costa Riviera:
She began life in the early 1960's as the Guglielmo Marconi, having been built for Lloyd Triestino.  Her maiden voyage was in November, 1963.  She and her sister ship, the Galileo Galelei, had been built for the Italy to Australia run, which they were able to complete in 23 days, instead of the then standard 30 days.  In 1983, the Marconi was purchased by Costa, given an extensive refit, along with the new name of Costa Riviera.  The decision to sell her for scrap was made around 2000, and she finally arrived at the breakers in India in 2002.
